Many thanks to each of you for your kind comments. Stephen, you are so right. Just shows the dangers of sticking too much to the photo details and then overlooking the obvious when you use a bit of imagination in a part of the painting without thinking it through. Much appreciated.

I love this spot, I think it's my favourite lake and I looked at this view at the end of August, although there wasn't any blue in the sky then... You have achieved a great feeling of distance and sense of drama with the beautiful lighting.
