Over the Water
Following my recent warm up painting I have had a go at the painting for a friend. She selected after looking at some photos of some paintings I had done some time ago. It is painted on Arches 95 lb rough half imperial. My original plan was to create light on the water and left white paper followed by dry brush to create some sparkle. I wanted to keep a loose effect without too much detail and so kept the buildings and left hand land as simple as possible. The foreground boat was turned to face into the scene and point toward the other shore.
