A very effective technique, Barry. Fine work.

That matchstick is working wonders Barry.

Thank you Lewis and Brian, I find the more random effect created by the matchstick suits my style much better that pens. I did make a reed pen last year which also creates lovely marks.

Works very well Barry, must have a try myself. As you say the old matchstick does give a better mark than a steel one. Didn't Van Gogh do reed pen drawings prior to his paintings?

Great attempt at this LP scene Barry. Like the effects of the use of matchsticks with ink.

Barry love the way you handle your cottages. Well placed with great tonal contrast and red roofs And you are much better at shapening matchsticks than me!

I did the ink drawing based on Anne Kerr’s article in the Leisure Painter a couple of weeks ago and thought I would add colour. I changed the scene slightly and used my sharpened matchstick for the ink work.
