The Danny on the Weaver

Super good Bari

Great painting Bari of a grand old lady! I know a bit about "her" so your painting made me smile. My great grandfather James Sampson Savage, at age 15, in 1871 worked as a "Waterman" on a "Mersey Flat", the "Speculator", out of Weston Port. Thirty years later he was captain of the Tug "Ralph Brocklebank", later purchased by the Manchester Ship Canal Company and renamed the "Daniel Adamson"in 1922. Surprising how evocative a painting can be! You have captured her brilliantly so a big thank you from me!

Hi Denis thanks for the feedback, I have a friend (in our camera club) who has been working on the renovation he does the boilers, I have a nice bit of video of the engine and boiler room working Google me for a copy. The boat is filming Peaky Blinders as we speak....
