Simple and clean and lovely.

This is really good David. I particularly like the boats and reflections in the water.

It’s a really good attempt , Wesson’s work look deceptively simple but oh how wrong . Your version is a good painting so don’t knock yourself to hard .

A mighty fine tribute it is too David. It certainly has all the attributes of a Wesson. Trying to change your natural style to someone else's can't be easy at all. So well done Matey.

Very lovely David 😊

Great painting, love the boats and water. Xx

A super painting David.

This is very well done, David. Lovely.

Love the simple clean colours.

Thank you all for your very kind comments and support.

Great painting David.

Thank you, Denise.

Lovely fresh painting

Looks great David and time well spent I think - your own style is distinctive and all the better for it. Trying different things can only help reinforce your style I guess - and it's all good practice!

Love the crisp, clean lines here David and love your choice of palette There is a very attractive simplicity to the painting, l though I’m sure it wasn’t simple to complete.

Many thanks, Cecilia, Sarah, Carolyn and Carole for your kind comments.

Really well painted as usual David 👌

David it isn’t easy but there is no evidence here that you had any difficulties, it’s a wonderful example.

Very good free work David, I’ve copied several of Wesson’s over the years, including this one I think. They appear simple but really hard to copy. I suppose that’s genius?

Thank you Stephen H, Fiona, Spencer, Michael and Stephen S for your very kind comments and remarks. I agree Stephen S with your comments re look simple but very difficult to copy - that is a sign of his ingenuity!!

Lovely serene painting David

Thank you, Anne.

A lovely tribute to Edward Wesson, the fluidity of the lake and cloud riven sky certainly shows a remote scene, lovely cottages and fishing boats with shallow reflections ,simplicity at a glance!

Thank you for your kind comments, Angela.

Thank you, Coral.

I painted this watercolour this afternoon based on Wesson's Pin Mill in Suffolk. I found it very difficult to copy Wesson's style and must admit I think I shall stick to my own style of painting in the future.
