Excellent painting David and history, believe there were 13 Victoria Crosses awarded for bravery

Yes I believe it is highest number of VC's awarded to a single unit in battle.

It is excellent and you are correct re the VC.

This is the second painting in my series of watercolours depicting scenes from the Anglo Zulu War of 1879. This is a view of the mission station at Rorke's Drift prior to it becoming the site of the second battle in this war. The mission was defended by about 150 soldiers of the B Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot (2nd/24th) .The battle was immortalised in the 1964 film, "Zulu". That film though was filmed about 140 miles from the actual site of Rorke's Drift.
