How nice to be next to you on the gallery - I feel among friends, lol! This is just superb - such lovely colours and so beautifully painted. Also you have managed to show the amazing bright sunlight - makes me feel warm just looking at it. Sadly, it is freezing here today as the wind is Arctic.

A beautiful old door with an abandoned letter box which just begged to be painted by Avril and there it is on paper, ready to be hanged on some lucky person's wall. Vraiment superbe comme toujours!

I love the blistering bleaching light in this Avie, the subtly altered perspective in the two rings and gaping letter box which has long since abdicated its function. I suspect that, the way communication is evolving, there will be many such subjects for you to lavish your skills on in years to come.

Thanks Kim, Gudrun and Denise for taking a moment to leave a comment. As you say Kim, letterboxes are becoming a thing of the past...... our appreciation of history will be all the poorer when there are no longer people's letters to read. Those written by the soldiers during WW1 describe all the horrors that should not be forgotten.
