Wow, this would have taken some time to plan. Quite an abstract feel to this painting of beautiful old keys.

Interesting subject, super image and.great design. Old keys seem to have a hidden story don't they - a wee bit scary even.

It's beyond me how you had the patience to do this. Such fun! I've already chosen a few of my favourites, and I love the hint of blue on the steel keys. Knowing your knack for getting 'into' metal and corrosion textures, perhaps I feel nostalgia for slightly more varied hues...

Thank you all for your encouragement. I loved the subject at the drawing stage and as I painted it got more and more difficult for the background .... the bottom of the box with just dark shapes. I put it aside for over a month and then said I've got nothing to lose "make or break"! It's possibly lacking in colour... needs some blue as Kim pointed out!

I just noticed that the saturation of the photo depends on angle of the screen.....! It goes from wishy washy to quite nicely coloured!

Love this Avril. You and your rust!!! Long time no hear, eh? Dropped out of the art world for a while. Got two baby grandchildren now, weeks old, been knitting and sewing and crocheting instead. Perhaps will be able to get back to painting now. Hope you are well. Jean
