This is my oil painting of a cheetah that I followed in Nairobi Game Park many years ago. My reference for the cheetah was a combination of some very old and faded photographs, my knowledge of anatomy and my memories of the day (the movement of the cheetah etc)....and I just hoped for the best! For my background and foregrounds I just go with what I am inspired to paint. Each painting has a narrative; in that I imagine the situation of the animal, what it is doing etc….and try and visualise the rest of the painting and make it fit the image in my head! Anne
