Dunfermaline Palace (value study) by Ashley Raddon

Thanks Maureen. Very useful exercise that I practice a lot

I always enjoy seeing value studies, they are often more dramatic than works in colour.

It's really amazing how you can capture light with a monochrome study like this - you're using one of the bluer Paynes Greys, which helps, but it's the placement of your big shapes (and of course the well-executed figures) that does the trick.

Impressive study.

Thanks everyone, really appreciated very

Like the style of swiftness and determination in using lines and washes

Thanks Georgiana, much appreciated
