Clear Sky In Winter after Geoff Kersey

Clear Sky In Winter after Geoff Kersey

Hi I have uploaded this painting as a follow up to my thread in the watercolour sub-forum regarding re-wetting an already painted area.

Lovely take on Geoff's work. Soft glowing colour, just as watercolour should be.

You've got there in the end Ian and produced a pleasing watercolour, a rather nice overall tonal colour with a glow as Stephen has mentioned. Compositionally, I'm not sure about the angle of the wall/hedge on the left, much better to position it so that it leads the viewers eye into the picture, it may be that this is how GK presented his version but that should not deter you from making adjustments.

It looks wonderful Ian, some beautiful colours in this and the sky is great! I think Geoff would be very pleased if he sees this!

Many thanks for the comments, they are much appreciated. I had a disaster with the sky in that I hadn't seen a pale drip of a raw sienna and burnt sienna right in the top and middle. My attempts to wet and draw it out failed but my wife says it looks like the moon in day light. I'm not convinced :)
