Hodder Place, formerly part of Stonyhurst College, Lancashire
This is a commission of some years ago in my usual pen and watercolour and is huge for me, slightly over A3. I was pleased with the picture not necessarily with the quality of it but the fact that it could be done at all - the sloping gardens are now tree-covered and obscure all the RH wing of the building. Luckily I found a sepia photo which showed terraced gardens and revealed the building. Several site visits provided details of colour and surrounding trees and 'Bob's your uncle'!
