Lovely painting and very picturesque site!

Beautifully painted and with such delicacy Jon. Love the muted background, which emphasises the foreground light.

Fabulous and so delicate, great reflections

A beautiful watercolour, John!

Lovely, sensitive work John.

Beautiful painting!

Thank you all for those comments. I'm sure that our length of the Great Ouse has yet more scenes to inspire paintings and keep me occupied..........

Beautiful painting, super reflections and foliage.

I love all your paintings. You once mentioned that you like Graphik in graphite and sepia. Are these the Derwent brand that are watersoluble? Thank you.

Thank you Karen and Pat. The Derwent Graphik pens are waterproof Pat, so paint over them with no problem. The water-soluble pens that I use are Stabilo Point 88, I have them in sepia and a red-brown colour, and use them for quick sketches with a water-filled brush pen.....Derwent I think.

The river behind our house often inspires me to draw or paint.....i drew this scene a few days ago then decided I would do a painting from the sketch. It's watercolour on Clairefontaine cold pressed (very nice surface!), 6" x 4".
