Thank you both for your comments. I did once do some book illustrating Jim, but I never saw it in print! Spot on Richard - loosely from Hest Bank but I've taken the liberty of changing the cliff from brown boulder clay to white limestone (artistic licence!).

Lovely illustrative style, John, really like this, simple but so effective.

Watercolour on Not Fontaine paper with lavish amounts of black ink, about A5. There, that's the technicalities.............I've tried in this picture to 'summarise' the view towards Cumbria - the distant fells, wooded shoreline, low limestone cliffs, sandbanks (though it's almost high tide) and bent trees.
