Hi Anni~ yet another stunning colourful work....I just love this and the cat too...one day when I'm too old to travel I will again have a cat...How are you getting on withe Redbubble? I 'belonged' to it some two years ago before joining POL.

Hi Phil, It's a freezing night here tonight brrrrr. Thanks for looking at this. Yes cats are great companions, we have a 10 year old tabbycat called Sam, quite a character, asleep on the sofa as I type this. I am getting on well with RedBubble, I had my second cheque from them last week. Not big money but its money and they take care of all the work. Their cards are great quality and compare favourably price wise with shop ones. Nice to give them to family and friends, a personal touch. I've sold some matted prints, a tee shirt and some laminated prints. There is good support and you can correspond with other artists, definitely worth joining...and it is free of course. Are you still a member? Cheers ~ Anni :)

Lovely bright stylish composition, enjoyed looking at this!

Anni, this is just up my street, cat and all. I love the bold design elements and your stunning colours. Most striking and inspiring. I have been doing a picture of one of my two cats, -one 21! and the other 14, but both sadly gone now - I was trying to render the fur as faithfully as possible, and it worked quite well, in pencil. But I see you have rendered shy Talula's face in a crisp way, which complements but doesn't detract from your gorgeous design shapes. Beautifully balanced. I love this picture...glad I looked you up. I am new to the POL and isn't it a great site!.

I read that NZ moves about 30 cm closer to the equator in a recent earthquake...so perhaps you will be warmer sooner?

Just lovely Anni. So original - it has your stamp. Love the tulips.

Lesley, Thanks for your very supportive comment, glad you liked this one :) ~ Anni

Hi Ruth, I enjoyed reading your comments on this painting. I did think about doing shading on this cat's fur but decided against it. I do like the crispness of the black and white fur and using hints of grey would detract from that in my opinion. You can use a waterproof black pen to put individual hairs in...instead of using a brush...I know some artists do this. Welcome to POL and whu not seek out RedBubble too, the web address is above under my painting here...and you can always email me from redbubble. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit. Best regards ~ Anni

Yes Phil, I did hear about NZ getting closer to Australia...some worried New Zealander's here LOL ~ Anni

Hello Jeanette, Lovely of you to take the time to look in and comment. I am flat out at the moment as there is an exhibition in September...and I need to paint several works for it. Enjoy smmer's warmth up there ~ Best regards ~ Anni

Love the white marking on Talulah, lovely shape and contributes to your great painting. You have done justice to Clarice's pottery, she would have been very proud! ps. You could also have named this painting 'Clarice and the Cat' lol. Also great colours as usual. Congratulations on your sales. Best wishes Carole.

lovely cats eyes.............love the bold colours

About a month ago I was bought some beautiful tulips. I sketched them in pencil hoping I could use them in a later painting, here they are. Of course, there had to be a cat too, this one is called Tulalah. She is shy and likes to hide, she loves only the best things in life, so has her favourite Clarice Cliff pottery on show.
