Gr8 painting and traditional story very refreshing.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the comment :) This little fella sold in my first solo exhibition way down south in a place called Invercargill last Christmas. They are delightful little birds. I am an owl fan and have started a small collection of owls...some pottery, soapstone etc... I did hear one some months ago where I live. I know you have several different owls in the UK. Cheers Anni :)

Hi Anni~ saw this little chappie on the right & knew it was one of yours~owls? I buy my Munchkin (now aged 34) a small owl wood-stone-metal, whatever from were ever we go in the world, now 17 years and some 200 owls in her collection (all about hand sized)...back to more-pork. I like it when there is a story to a painting..love it well done as ever...

Acrylic on canvas. Morepork: New Zealands native owl, Maori name (Ruru) sitting at dusk under a Punga tree. The Morepork is New Zealands only surviving native owl. It is a small owl. Its melancholy cry sounds as if it is saying more-pork. A bird of the night it is often linked to the spirit world and is known as a watchful guardian. Some say they have the power to protect, warn and advise. I have a particular fondness for owls. ~ Anni :)
