This is fab wish I had thought of it must have taken you a long time to do in getting the eyes just right like you have :-)

Hi Peter, Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment. It took sometime and was quite intensive, not as relaxing as some paintings I have done. I still don't consider that I have got the eyes right, but sometimes one just has to let go and stop... move on. Like all paintings we do, it was a learning exercise; I hope the more I paint to more I improve but sometimes it is difficult to believe that. I wonder what you are painting at the moment? Hi don't know if you have looked to my work I manly do wild life painting and at the moment I am painting a flying sea eagle ocer the sea and i hope to have finished very soon thanks Pete

This was inspired by my fascination with spectacles/glasses and the way we 'see; people, if you forgive the pun. We get so used to our friends and family wearing glasses that they become part of them and their personality. When I was at school as a child in England, the children that wore National Health glasses were unkindly called 'Four Eyes and wearing glasses was not cool. Fortunately now wearing glasses isn't stuck with that kind of stigma anymore. They are a fashion statement and an expression of our personal taste and personality even. When I was about 3 years old I was looked after one afternoon by a woman with fly away spectacles and thick lenses, the lady scared me stiff. Anyway I had this painting in my head and wanted to get it down on canvas. ~ Anni www.annimorris.co.nz
