Thank you David, very kind. This is one of the sketching palettes with the half pans which Janet gave me to try out. I must admit I have got a bit obsessed with it now. I find the paint creamy and nice to use.

Thank you Carole, this is in an idyllic place between the river and canal, I will be putting a few more from this place here shortly. My art group had an exhibition in one of the barns so I was lucky to get lots of time to sketch.

I hadn't done any sketching for over 40 years until my friend Janet Jackson began to take me out this year. I am so grateful to her as it has opened up a long forgotten world for me. The colours outside are superb, some of the things I have produced have been used as reference for larger paintings and some have become decent pieces in their own right. Even if I produce complete nonsense I find it a really enjoyable and relaxing thing to do. This is an old barn in Bradford on Avon. I think I have squashed it a bit to fit into the square paper!
