Very nostalgic Annie, is it Midsomer Murders region by any chance? lol

Linda, we reckon that the Murders series stole our name. We are actually in Somerset, so all the buildings and villages look really different to the tv series. Glad we don't have their crime rate :-)

I am sure they will be pleased to have this painting.

Thank you Maureen, the engineers like it, so that is a bit of a miracle in itself !!

What a lovely painting Annie, lovely work.

Glad you cleared up the Midsomer link up Annie, I thought it was unusual to see living people instead of corpses....lol it’s a beautiful bounty of memories, history and of course roses!

Beautiful painting Annie,I presume and hope that the station is still operational.Keep posting your lovely work.

Fiona, that's really funny. Chris, thank you for the lovely encouragement. Sadly the station was shut down as part of the Beeching closures in 1967 but thanks to the work of loads of volunteers over the years the signal box and green house have been rebuilt, the old stable is now a museum, the station building and engine shed are still intact, Our cafe is in an old buffet car. We have nearly a mile of track now leading towards the Mendips and a working steam locomotive. They let me do the signwriting on the wagons and locomotives so there is always something to do!

Those were the days Annie., a beautiful little painting. Sounds like you and your volunteer friends have worked miracles with this beautiful bit of history.

Thanks Carole. There is a big sense of pride in the achievements. It's also really nice to feel useful.

Very well captured Annie, a great old and historic building.

Nicely captured scene.

A really "feel good" painting Annie - I love it.

Thank you all for your wonderful encouraging comments

This is a historical piece of the station where I volunteer. The old photos are getting really faded now and it is quite hard to see what is happening on them. Also, obviously, they are in black and white. The station used to sell the roses on behalf of the local hospital and were very proud of their gardens. Acrylic on board.
