"Portrait in Pink"

Comments

Wow, packs a punch. Hope you've been able to move on from such bad/sad times.

Yes, thank you Heather, Think painting helps to express emotion especially in flesh tones and thank goodness I started drawing again! Re- the pigments ...there seems to be a lot of water expressed from the gaze and lips, however things did recover over time.

You can see a deep sorrowfulness in the eyes, that comes across in the painting. I really like the colours you used and I am glad things recovered for you.

A wonderfully expressive face that displays such sadness. Glad things have moved on Angela.

A portrait that certainly captures that moment in time when you were at a low point in your life. What great news that you came through it all.

Great expressive and yes sorrowful face Angela, pleased you have "got through" the bad times.

I remember the time when I painted this portrait, it was when I was feeling loss and grief and shedding tears so I painted in pink as empathy was surrounding us....found this with some old paintings I had done before we moved to the country to rebuild our lives....transition sometimes helps us to let go and move on into other pastures..
