Interesting expressive brush strokes and application Angela.

Why thank you Alan, I applied the 'dab, dab, dab' approach for this seascape as the sea displays so many interesting patches of colour especially on the east coast of Tasmania! The granite and sandstone rocks jut out of the sea and pools of turquoise and blue look like ink-wells and then the sea appears green stretched far out towards the horizon. I use a flat edged brush as it can dab and add straight edges which assist with structure and form for the jagged rocks, this was painted from what appealed on a clear day!

You’ve painted the swirl of the water around the rocks really well Angela, you’re right about the sea sometimes being green.

Many thanks Fiona, I think its these 'rock pools' which engage the interest and with a flick of the tip of the brush I am learning how to create a spray, although need more practice along the way! The colours of the sea fascinate wherever we are, the North sea fascinates too as it is dramatic!

Love the colours in the sea Angela, so alive..

Lovely Angela.

Love the sea-green and the spray is very effective Angela.

I really like this Angela

The sea always inspires and its amazing how the colours transist from dark blue, turquoise to green on a clear day! I painted this seascape on canvas in acrylic and the waves rushing over the granite rocks looked so fresh as the tide filtered over and left an expanse of green.
