Ever since I visited Bassenthwaite I dream about visiting our Ancestral home! A cottage at the foot of the hills, where chickens strut, a terrier dog sits waiting and the Herdwick sheep grazing on the grass. I drew this scene in 2b pencil and started with the background then added the stone cottage, and gate with a road leading up to the hills. Would love to visit this place sometime again!
