Broken bread, broken body

Fantastic drawing skills … what a sad title though.

Very touching and beautifully drawn Andrew.

Thank you Heather and Carole for your lovely feedback; the painting is Jesus at the Last Supper, in which he breaks the bread and says 'This is my body, broken for you'; its very poignant! Love and God bless, Andy x

Each year at Lent, I would paint something to focus my mind on the events of Holy Week; in 2017 I painted my first of these, using oil sticks and acrylics, of Jesus' hands at the final Passover meal with his followers, as he declares 'This is my (broken) body given for you' as he did that he knew what would happen to him the next day on the cross. I can only imagine what that must have been like for him to do that. What do you think? Much love and God bless 😃❤️🙏🕊
