Love the colours and the stonework Andrew .

Good one Andrew

It’s always a tricky decision as to whether or not to draw in every stone or brick! Because once you’ve committed yourself you have no alternative but to continue… Personally I’m not a great fan of this practice, I think there are better ways of suggesting areas of stonework. But you’ve done a decent job of it, the grouting looks a bit clean mind you for the age of the building, but an easy fix!

Thank Paul, Heather and Alan for your comments. Alan - I have toned down the pointing as suggested and I admit it is an improvement. I won't post a revised version because I'll lose these comments.

Love the textures you find in old buildings, this is a lovely example of old stonework Andrew. The touch of red is a smashing addition.

Thank you Fiona, much appreciated, there seemed to be lots of these wild fuchsia's around at the moment.

A small watercolour of a stone porch attached to a farmhouse below Carreg Cennen castle, Carmarthenshire. A5 in my sketchbook.
