Andrew ,this is just beautifull,I am sure you will make a lot of money for a very worthy cause, sadley I think the days of futer generations only being able to see some of the creatures of our unique world, by picture only, is nearer than we'd like to addmit !!!!.. kind regards , karen.

I know all too well what gin traps do; I wish you every possible success with the auction, and with your attempts to conserve these magnificent animals. Fine painting, oil just the right medium for this sort of study. By the way, I think you were right about the foliage. All the best.

Beautifully painted, love the dappled light and leafy boughs, all helps with his camoflage. Good Luck.

I logged on especially to congratulate you on using your art in this way. What a wonderful way of giving something back, I wish you the very best of luck with the fund raising. These are such beautiful creatures and I love this piece of work.

A beautiful painting. I agree with the comments above. I'm sure it will raise a lot of money.

Sorry to be so late. I've only just seen this. It's terrific! I hope you did well with your auction.

Ok this is the final version, I suppose I should have left the last one up but didn't want to clog up the gallery. I am feeling much happier now that there is foliage coming over his hindquarters. This chap will be auctioned over the coming 2 months at a couple of events to raise funds for cape leopard conservation in South Africa where many farmers think nothing of setting barbaric gin traps for them when there are many viable alternatives to protecting livestock that don't involve killing endangered predators - just look at what those gin traps do if you have a strong stomach: http://www.landmarkfoundation.org.za/
