fabulous painting in every way

So fresh and sparkly, great colours.

Bright, sparkling and beautiful.

Makes me yearn for summer. Beautiful.

Hi mate. Doesn't strike me as one of yours... did the commissioner give you the comp to work from? Like the the water in particular the sparkly bits at the back and even more the shadowed bits at the front. Just out of interest is this a view from the mainland or Arran? I can't work out where the golf course is (not that I'm an expert on that stupid game).

Hi Ade, that is interesting, I thought it was quite typical of my stuff he he :-) Mind you, I have started testing out techniques leaning toward the realism side, with the main danger obviously being to over-encumber a canvas. I think I avoided that here but nice to hear what others think...

Love the rock pools in the foreground.. Reminds me of the day when as a child, we hired a rowing boat and decided to row to Ailsa Craig, not realising how far it was. Then the tide turned and we had to be towed back. Scary day. Ailsa Craig always reminds me of a cherry bun.

It's the fabulous blues in this which attracted me to it, on my usual nightly trawl of the paintings I've missed..... I'm with Mark Twain, who said that golf just spoiled a good walk, but this is a highly successful painting. Took a fair while to paint, I should imagine.

This was a commission for a golfing enthusiast that's kept me busy the last while.
