Beautiful, and it&#39;s nice to actually see someone with an art degree painting beautiful works instead of chucking paint at a canvas

Thanks Peter, I was aiming for a timeless quality with this one :) thank you for your compliment :)

Thanks Terence! A great compliment to keep me painting through the afternoon! :)

Stunning painting, Andrea, from the woman&#39;s face, hair, and dress, to the background - inspiring piece of work...

Thank you for posting this lovely compliment Jan :) it is really very much appreciated :)

Absolutley gorgeous portrait, with a beautiful backdrop. Stunning.

Thank you Andre, really kind of you to leave this lovely comment :)

Wow, so much detail - fabulous - how long did this take to complete? How big is it?<br />

A superb piece, Andrea, it&#39;s so beautifully painted. There&#39;s such a freshness about the scene, and I love the gorgeous palette, the excellent composition and the stunningly elegant feel of the piece.

I agree totally with Terence!

Hi Graeme, this painting is approximately 50 cms by 40 cms. I am never too sure how long each painting takes because I have work and family commitments which means a lot of starting and stopping, but I would guess it took around 20 to 30 hours. Believe it or not I did leave out a lot of detail, the canal was heaving with watercraft and I simplified the buildings quite a bit too, but you are right - that still left quite a lot of detail to paint! Thanks for your visit and comments! :)

Thank you Seok, I wanted to capture a timeless quality in this painting and I felt muted cinematic colours would help achieve this. Really glad you like it, I always really appreciate your comments Seok :)

Hi Russell, thank you for agreeing with Terence! Such a great comment - thanks for echoing it :)

Love this one

Thank you Jane :) very kind of you :)
