I bet this looks stunning in real life. The format does the painting great justice and I love the way you have painted the greens. Andrea.

Thank you Carole. I fancied painting on canvas (rather than the canvas panel I have been painting on recently) and found I already had this long slim canvas slipped between two pieces of furniture - as you do! So the format was already given and it was a case of looking through all my reference photos of the glorious wildflower show which we enjoyed the summer before last. I ended up with 2 wildflower scenes and a coastal sunset which would have all fitted these proportions. I can now see myself purchasing a couple more at this size - so that I can paint the other two! Thanks for commenting Carole, it’s much very appreciated :- ) PS The paint is royal talens, artist-quality water mixable oil. I treated myself to a set with my Christmas money. There were three tubes of green and I mixed the other variables. This is my fourth painting using the set, and by far the largest. I’m usually an acrylic fan, so this is very different. Xx

Beautiful work, Andrea. I do love the effect of painting on this shape/sized canvas. Sounds like you have had an interesting career and good look with your new shop.

Thanks Louisa :- ) As I mentioned to Carole, I’m now tempted to get some more canvases in the same format! (This one was only waiting for around four years to be painted on!) I’m very lucky that I got to do the creative career that I set my heart on. Since having my children I’ve taken work which fitted the needs of my family - but I have always kept my passion for painting going alongside. Thank you so much for the good luck message - as a result of having my etsy shop, I have just had my first stall at a local etsy Artisian Fair. It was both nerve wracking and loads of fun! Happy painting Louisa :- )

Dorset wildflowers. Oil painting on slim canvas - 80 cms x 30 cms. Painted with brushes (rather than my painting knives this time!).
