Thanks Frank. My aim was to suggest my hands, but not get so detailed that they became the focus of the painting....especially as they are in the foreground. Stepping away from the paintbrush was the difficult part!

Thank you so much Debbie. It was a quite an experience painting this one - it did conjure up a lot of mixed feelings while it was in progress. I still feel strangely uncomfortable living with this piece too, so it lives in a portfolio on top of the wardrobe! Despite this, I also feel it’s one of the best pieces I have ever painted!
