Fighting Sparrows

Comments

I really like this Linda - I like sparrows a lot :) Are these ones Tree Sparrows? Always lovely to see these - and beautifully painted.

These are tree sparrows, the house sparrow has a grey head and a black bib. Thank you for your comment Margaret.

Tremendous work Linda, superbly illustrated!

Thank you Alan, it's got the other half's approval so it's going in the dining room 👍😁

Lovely painting Linda

Absolutely gorgeous Linda, and painted beautifully.

Beautifully done, Linda. We rarely see sparrows in our garden these days which is a shame.

Terrific colour and movement Linda. I’m surprised when people say they don’t see many sparrows. We seem to have more than our fair share here and they nest under the guttering of our house.

Same here Tessa, both hedge and house sparrows, they nested last year in the communal bird box my husband made for them, two broods flying over our heads when sitting in garden 😁 and thank you Heather, Paul and Jenny for your kind comments 😀

A super painting, Linda. I agree that they are beautiful birds if you care to look at them. We don't see so many sparrows these days...just a few...they used to be commonplace.

Wow, how beautiful and you've captured such movement too. Fabulous.

Thank you Lew and Susan, your comments are really appreciated.

Just smashing, Linda, love every thing about this. Sparrows are about the only birds hunters don't shoot here...ours are house sparrows and Spanish sparrows, I think. Really inspiring work!

Thank you Thalia, they are really thriving here!!

Lots of sparrows about at the moment, boring to some but when you look closely they have the most beautiful detail and shades of brown in their feathers. Painted with Inkbrush pen and white uni posca pen. The background is 8b graphite pencil, the branches finished using a battery operated rubber.
