This would make a super card Linda. Beautiful composition, I love these birds. We had seven in the back garden once, from I do not know where. What brand of pastels do you use?

Well done Linda, he looks so alive

Thank you John, the pastels are Derwent pastel pencils and Pentel Oil pastels which weren't very expensive and I think I should have invested In a more expensive set, but there is a good variety of colours and while i'm still practicing they seem ok.

Thank you Annie for your kind compliment, there is a lot of artistic licence with the foliage but the pheasant was of a calendar.

Beautifully delicate and fine detail Linda.

I have to agree with the above comments, Linda. This is very, very beautiful. A real eye catcher.

Brilliant, Linda. I really like the ferns etc.

It's going very well, Linda. Do you enjoy them? I do.

This caught my eye at once. The pheasant is beautiful and I love the delicate white flowers.

Marvellous pastel Linda, I love this. I think you are enjoying your new pencils. This reminded me of when my hubby used to go on shoots, he was working the dog not shooting, anyway he used to bring a brace of pheasants home and guess who had to clean them!!!

An exceedingly pleasant pheasant Linda.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments, yes Dawn I am getting used to them now, taking a little longer with the oil pastels but the colours are so vibrant they are like embroidery silks.

I like the way you've surrounded the pheasant with plant life , it really makes him stand out, Lovely work.

Thank you Val, the original picture had a field full of bluebells but seeing its October thought it more appropriate to have some cow parsley and ferns and I was too late for the glorious twelfth lol.

Linda, you don’t need practice......this is super!

Thank you Fiona, I really appreciate your lovely comment.

Sorry Linda that's meant to say fabulous work again ... never type on a phone 😂

Ha ha thanks Dermot I thought you were speaking in Italian, love your latest painting by the way.
