I really like the original and decorative style. A good composition in this format . I also love your last two landscape in your gallery!

Thank you so much, Jane. I've just looked at your website and love your sculpture, particularly the two Clay ones.... and what a setting they are in!

Well done Alix ...... so good for self confidence when a painting is selected. I love your boats here and the colours too.

I saw this in A&I and liked it immediately. Lovely palette and distinctive style.

Val and Avril, Thank you very much for your kind comments. Quite warms me as I stand in my freezing studio trying to approach a white canvas. Will have to give in to some heating or nothing will be achieved today. I even resorted to weeding files but didn't get much warmer!

Such beautifully observed boats. I saw this in A&I, many congratulations, a super image.

Lesley, that is so kind of you - especially as you are definitely Queen of Boats! Thanks very much.

Congratulations Alix ! A lovely combination of traditional and abstract!

You have a wonderful style and your gallery is fab! Get your heating on so that we can see more of your lovely work :)

Dear Sarah and Satu, I got in late last night to see your extremely kind comments. They made for a good night's sleep! I'm having great difficulty starting the painting stage of my next picture. Shouldn't be difficult as it's a variation of one I did earlier, as they say. I must give myself a firm kick up the proverbial - perhaps set a time limit. Hey hum!

Many congratulations on your painting being chosen in A&I. Spotted this immediately.

Great style in this one has led to some lovely clean, colourful lines Alix.

Thank you, Frank. I spent most of my art career deep in official military paintings and work for museums specialising in the dress over the centuries. Really more illustrative so I needed to loosen up for other subjects and styles. This painting was an exercise in using only one quite large flat brush so that I had to move my arm around to get different brushstrokes. I enjoyed it immensely but I do find I have a tendency to tighten if I drop my guard!
