Pause for Thoughts of Gold
Acrylic on canvas 60 x 50cm. This is the view from the South West Path between Poldhu and Church Cove, looking towards Church Cove and Gunwalloe in Cornwall. In this painting, I was trying to capture the light of the 'golden hour' as the sun was setting. It cast the most incredible glow which caused stunning reflections on the sea and bathed everything in a beautiful light. I was particularly interested in the wild flowers in the foreground; how they were mostly in silhouette forming interesting shapes but with just their edges picking up that atmospheric light and colour.
