'Standing Waiting, Cadgwith' 72x45cm, mixed media by Alice Hole
This drawing was mostly completed using acrylic ink in Carbon Black and graphite. It was very interesting limiting myself to just one tonal shade to try and represent all the different surfaces within this view: the dewy boat, smooth buoys, textured ropes, pebbly beach, and rocky cliffs. It was also a challenge to create distance and depth within the scene. I aimed to convey the stillness of the Cadgwith fishing boats moored in the cove on a still winter’s morning, awaiting the day to come.
