Thanks Fred, they were. The two in the middle are my workmates and they are tall. The shadow helps make them look even taller. Rather annoying that I'm so short. 😊

Like the contrasting lights and darks, perspective and the complementary blues and oranges. Those twinkly lights add so much atmosphere Alan.

About two years ago I was sent to Venice with work so I took my camera (as you do), looking for a nice scene to paint. I liked this one because of the light and the shadows. I started this painting and kept putting it to one side to finish later, I've finally got round to finishing it, which frees up some space for me :). Its in oil and measures 30 inches by 24 inches.
