Could the poem be.............."Lighthouses and seashells, Along a salty coast. A whisper of wind, Carries kites to fly with birds.....etc" from The Coast by Emmaline Gibson ?? You have painted a stunning sky, by the way. I love skies and this one is especially good. In fact, the whole picture is a delight. Well done !!

Thank you, Lionel, that is indeed the poem and I've just read it again.........super!! Thank you, also, for taking time to comment on the painting, much appreciated, Alan.

Beautiful painting, great sky and colours

Alan, love the colours you use. Great sky casting a glow on the sea-grass. Sounds a beautiful poem too.

A lovely atmospheric piece. Love your palette and the light.

I love the small area of light in the sky, very correct and atmospheric, great piece of work,

A beautiful sky and atmosphere very well painted.

One of your best Alan. A stunning painting. Fantastic light in the sky and lovely reflected glow in the grasses.

Thank you, all, for the positive comments. As always they are much appreciated.

Fabulous sky and foreground Alan.

A lovely painting - although it's the Sussex coast, it could as easily be of parts of the Isle of Wight, which I infest.... If I say it's a simple scene, it may read as criticism: but even with the simplest of scenes, you've got to know exactly where to put things; in fact, probably rather more so than with more complex ones... Anyway, you did know, and you've put everything where it ought to be so deftly that it looks as though the picture composed itself. We know better....

what beautiful light and colours! This is gorgeous.

This is an exquisite painting. I love everything about it -light, composition, colours....

excellent stull Alan, as is the rest of your PF. best Mick. The Coast Emmaline Gibson.

What an idiot, sorry Alan, that should have ben stuff, not stull.

This is 20 x 30 in oils on canvas. My impression of last summers holiday on the Sussex coast. The farm fields went right up to the beach (apart from the sea defences) and in plenty of places nature was left to it's own devices. The title came from a line in a poem I read last year but can't remember the title of the poem or who it was by now.......old age catching up fast.
