It's brilliant Adele. You should be proud of it.

Sometimes I wonder.. what you do to manage your timings..You upload so much of work which reflects the hours you spent in a day for painting.. Truly blessed artist... Each and every piece of art is unique in its own way...

This is a good loose drawing, well impressed so you can do 'loose' after all. Well done Adele.

Impressive drawing of a stately building, Adele. Very nice work.

So well done Adele, your patience with all those windows is astounding!

This is really good and I agree with Manashree - you should be proud of yourself Adele.

It is very lovely Adele. I don't think I have the patience for all those windows. Well done.

Fantastic work Adele, I'd be proud to have something of this standard in my gallery!

A good drawing of a challenging building Adele and I do like the colours of the wash and that speck of red!

Thank you for all these lovely comments everybody. Manashree, I wish I did spend lots of hours at my art but at the moment I am still putting on my earlier paintings. Alan, I can do loose with a watercolour wash because I tend to rush it more in order to get it over with!! Can't seem to do it with my beloved acrylics, but will keep on trying. Meanwhile I am going to give the monoprinting a try out this morning.

Superb Adele, a challenging subject successfully executed.

real nice line and wash of an iconic building. Agree, all those windows....patience is a virtue. Well done.

Well, I prefer this to some of the efforts on that painting programme year .... I wouldn't have the patience for this.

.. last year. I am wearing my glasses. As has been said, lovely colours. I look forward to your prints.

Thanks you Fiona, Andre and Gudrun. Have just completed a print, whew! trickier than I thought. Will put it on later when it has dried.

Amazing, Adele. All those windows! Phew I'd be seeing double. Love the Union Jack in the foreground.

Oh wowser Adele. Jackpot hit here. My favourite skyline. Remember this building when it was alll black and sooty. Looks like a wedding cake now. I have a project of this to do soon re the Liver birds. My sketch book collaboration, one of the themes is "Birds" so I thought I would depict these two.

Of course all built with slave labour and sugar.

Nice painting Adele, as said by Carole, you must have had some patience to do all those windows!

Thank you Ellen, Sylvia and Margaret. Good luck with your project Sylvia.

Fantastic drawing Adele!!!

What patience with all those windows! I think it is a great painting. You should do it again in a different medium.

Thank you Satu and Dorothy.

Pen/Ink and Watercolour - I took a photo of this building from the Mersey ferry. This photo of my painting is more vibrant than the painting itself and I was very disappointed with it. However, I really love the buildings and might try it again in a different medium sometime.

About the Artist
Adele Elgood

When I was a young girl my parents had a large mirror which had an etching of a "crinoline lady" on. I would spend hours copying this. In the 1960's when I was at Secondary school, I was told to give up painting and drawing as I was useless and would never be any good. Following these words of…
