Oil on Board. Fleur was a neighbour's Borzoi dog. Very timid, she didn't like any dogs near her except our dog Lewis. She was twice the size of him and she would allow him to stand next to her and they would both gaze into space. Occasionally I caught her sneaking a peak at him out of the corner of her eye. One day they were standing in the field together when two out-of-control large dogs jumped the drystone wall and rushed toward Fleur barking and growling. She was terrified but Lewis turned and ran them off the field and then returned to Fleur where they continued their contemplation of life. His owner has told everyone of the bravery of Lewis and he is hailed as the local hero. Only just noticed her eyes aren't matching!
