Good eyes here in particular, Adele.

I like this. I've meant to try a monochrome painting and then add colour glazes. This would be ideal for this technique. I've tried painting a colour picture from a black and white photo, but it was very difficult, but perhaps one stage at a time might work better. I remember seeing Sutcliffe photos of little boys in Whitby harbour in the Fox Talbot Museum in Laycock - they are lovely and I think you have done him justice.

This was taken from a photo by the Victorian photographer, Sutcliffe who roamed around Whitby, North Yorkshire. This gentleman was a well-known "character" named Tarry. I love sepia photos and was tempted to try it in oils.
