It's worked out well - you could do it again, without the toy! I know - you've just fought with this one, and here am I saying have another go.... But seriously, the toy isn't a problem, it's worked well in the end; I just couldn't imagine what on earth it was when I first saw the preliminary work. The hair is much better too - you didn't want or need a highly finished, finicky painting, and have kept the overall freshness of the face and image generally. So - success!

I think this is a lovely portrait Paul, the little girl's cheery character shines through and I'm sure the soft toy means a lot to her and in years to come she'll be delighted to see it preserved for posterity.

Really lovely painting Paul

This one really sings - the hair is lovely and the expression on the face is lovely too. I think it has all worked out rather well in the end!

Great stuff! Pat yourself on the back! I like the green background better and the little girl is terrific :)

Well done for fixing it - it works really well now. The little girl is lovely and it is obvious that she is accompanied by a toy now. Your portraits are definitely improving and you are right it is the learning that matters.

Another lovely portrait Paul and definate cuteness factor with this one
