This is lovely, a view I like so much. It is a shame they plan to flood the area.

Your "plein air" pictures are great. I've been attending a class where we do a lot of work from our own photos, but your work is encouraging me to get out there with my sketch book.

Yes I have just heard about the plan to let the sea flood into the valley - the loss of a classic British Landscape - maybe I should go back and do some more! I have worked loosely from photographs for many years but it is only since embarking on this plein air approach that I have realised how much you miss when you are not drawing directly from your subject. I noticed when I compared my acrylic painting carried out on location with the photo's I took for later reference purposes - the photo's looked so flat and boring!
