“I will go on my way” 100x110cm acrylic on canvas Thanks all of you for your compliments. In this painting, I decided to portray a Greek young woman, whose name is Elefteria and is now based in London. Eleftheria, which means freedom in Greek, is one of the thousand students that trusts the educational system of the U.K., to be one of the best places to rely their ambitions for knowledge and career expectations. We met on a sunny summer day in London. We had coffee and discussed about Greek financial dead end, European humanistic crisis and her future plans. I could see her questioning thinking face, appearing in between the milky sunbeams. As the light entered the space through the window blinds, it crossed the bold stripes of her dress. It was there when I noticed her proud posture showing up among a perfect geometrical background. By drawing some sketches that day at a coffee shop in Peckham, I realized that her strong appearance resembles to the one’s of a "Karyatida". She was standing there, representing the pursuit of harmony through Philosophy and Geometry, just like her ancestors did. But she was doing it, in her own contemporary way. This is what really motivated me to depict her.

Beautifully painted - it is thought-provoking in the way of Edward Hopper. However, I get the sense the subject is still looking for the way or the way is not one she is looked forward to.

Really striking use of bold geometric shapes

Very nice work Natasha. Love the cool skin tones , the dress patterns and the geometrical shadows,
