Super, strong sense of place very well done, Mike! Especially on such a large piece of paper...stretched I assume?? Looks lovely.

my thanks to everyone for the encouragement. Yes , the paper was stretched (still is for that matter). I stretch all paper intended for watercolour. I took the photo for this ( and a few more besides) from my bedroom window on a recent visit.

The clouds are fantastic. I understand about your reservations. Sometimes nature just looks out of kilter, but I suspect this is how it was. It's quite intimidating, so excellent painting.

view from my daughter's house and one I wanted to try. The jury is still out on this , bit like the curates egg - good in parts and not so in others. It was a challenge.
