Mike, this is a lovely painting, very delicate and with lots of atmosphere. I like the sharp edges here and there, interspersed with the soft areas. Colours used are very harmonious.

Ah, this must be one of the national parks in New Zealand, I reckon. The muted colours work so well for this kind of landscape, which reminds me so much of Snowdonia and the Lake District fells. Intriguing painting. Bri

National Park covers a volcanic area - includes an active volcano or two - or three. At the time I visited , the route of this particular crossing was actually closed because of volcanic activity
