I've never used black wc paper, not being a watercolourist, but I do know that black seems to intensify the colours. It certainly has with this lovely painting - the light effect is great too.

I decided to try something different and dug out a box of inktense watercolour and had a go at this beautiful image by Tricia Crockett from a free reference site online . Black watercolour paper proved quite a challenge to allow the colours to jump of the paper . But this surprised me !
