I don't think it greatly resembles Kahlo's style, other than that it is bold, and clear.   I should add that I am not a great admirer of Kahlo's work - she may have been deeply courageous and admirable, in her way, as a person; but I'm not drawn to the personal disclosure in her paintings: her heart was worn proudly on her sleeve - but I prefer art that is not confessional or so obviously autobiographical. The style of your painting is - Lucian Hodoboc!  It is your very own, and in its way it is unique - I do not think that you conform (or for that matter should seek to conform) to the style of other painters.
Dawn Farley is the online editor! I’m a forum moderator along with Robert and Paul, but we are not paid staff! We just monitor scams or inappropriate postings etc, and delete them, nothing more complicated than that. Everyone who participates on the forum, and gallery are both amateur and professional artists, but mainly amateur.

Yes, forum moderators are usually volunteers. I have been part of the staff team of a couple of internet forums a few years ago, and I'm a bit familiar with how it works. Is Dawn Farley ever active on the forums?

Dawn does post on the forum when she has information to pass on to the members and sets the monthly challenges etc . I do know that she takes a interest  and is aware of what is going on as part of her role as the on line editor . As you will know from your experience of websites the editor doesn’t necessarily need to post regularly .
Oh, no, Paul, I only worked with forums, not websites. You know, keeping out the spammers, basic coding and other stuff like that. We didn't have editors on the forums I was part of, as there was no need for anyone to write articles. The main focus was creating topics and replying to them. Is Dawn an artist as well? Does she post her works in the gallery?
Suggestion Lucian...ask her.
Out of politeness I will leave Dawn to answer any questions about her self . The reason for the editors role is that the website is run and supported by two magazines The Artist and Leisure Painter they are both printed monthly and Dawn is part of the staff team and has responsibility for editing this site  , I will leave it there as  I don’t want to give any incorrect information.
It had never occured to me to wonder if Dawn paints - I do know that she makes sumptuous cakes; it'd be worth getting a staff job just to sample the occasional slice.   But I'm a bit old to be thinking of starting a new career in magazine publishing.
Well I have seen some artwork by Dawn, only a couple of pieces but excellent work!
Not on here though, are they?  I couldn't find them, anyway...  I should love to see Dawn's work; and Sally Bulgin's too, if available.
I have never wondered if Dawn or any of the team paint , but then I don’t think they need to to do their job.  A editor is a editor of the magazine or on line magazine, I’m sure they have a deal of knowledge about painting and art in general . Yes been able to paint would give insight into some of the issues but then there are plenty of advisers to help. I won’t name names as they say but I used to know a chap  who was the editor of a car magazine who had not a clue about cars other than you needed a license to drive it and put fuel in , it didn’t stop him from being a good editor.  I know that no one is doubting Dawns ability, but it does have a slight hint that she or the team should paint,  where has  that come from all of a sudden and why ? , or do I read this wrong .
Painting title: The Girls From Oltenia Author: me Size: 27.5 x 35.4 inches Medium: oil on canvas I would like you to tell me what art movement comes to your mind when you first look at this painting. Any other opinions and pieces of constructive criticism are welcome.

My instant reaction is Mexican.
The faces seem off to me, but the scarfs wrapped around them are very highly designed and look awesome. I like the design the most on the right.
