Just about everything catches my eye but I don’t always paint it. This summer I was down at the harbour with a friend to paint en plein air. In the event I did a sketch plus photos rather than a painting because the subject which attracted me was too complicated, with its angles etc. What attracted me were the shapes and light. Finally I’m tackling it. Small, 8”x6.5”, but I’m having a great time. Need to let it dry a bit before I add masts and lines which are in the boatyard behind the rundown building.

Pity you can’t erase the sideways image. What I forgot to say was that it was out of my comfort zone because I had to consider the layout more, rather than just paint it in a carefree manner. Don’t know if anyone can erase the sideways image🤨
Don’t know how to erase it but I have turned it upright and cropped in  edit and remove if you want me . I wonder if you go into edit and try to erase , or have you tried that.
Thanks Paul. Yes, I turned it round myself ( with edit, which I’d forgotten) but it would be good to be able to erase. Can’t do it on the gallery either now, whereas, before, you could.
It’s a tricky subject with all those angles and straight lines… you haven’t asked for critique so I won’t offer it, but I do think it’s going to need a few figures or whatever to break up that wall!
I love this sort of thing Marjorie, walls with random doors, nicely structured angles that make the buildings look interesting, the peeling paint. I think it looks fantastic, if it were mine, I  would put a hound walking down the street but from a back view. Really love it. Fantastic.
Yes, thanks both. A figure or two , maybe a dog , sounds good.
Lend you Sam doing a pee mail. Will be interesting to see how this goes .
In my haste to help or mess it up I forgot to say , it’s looking really good and I to think a couple of figures would add a lot.
Strangely enough Sylvia I thought along those lines ( as a joke) but a few discarded poo bags or masks.
It is a working environment , maybe a bike  propped up.  A cat licking it’s paws.  I still think a dog…somewhere …doing doggy things . I do like it.
I love this, Marjorie. Sylvia beat me to it, but a bike……even a broken one with only one wheel!
