A cracking job Andrew.
Thank you Alan, Paul and Lewis for the kind words, I'm starting on the trees which gives me something organic to work on as opposed to all those straight lines, so praying I don't screw things up. The top third is about to get a lot busier, and I'll inevitably have to lose some of those open spaces, but not all of them.
Fascinating to see this developing Andy, and I look forward to the next stage.
Thank you Tessa, here is the next stage.  I have added some more detail on the first floor and started on filling in the winter trees, bare of leaves.   I started at the furthest point to avoid branches overlapping and I'm moving forward filling in the twigs as I go.  On the home straight now.
I was there yesterday Andrew , it’s looking so good next time i will try to start in the same spot as your view , mi d yku will need to elbow a few people aside.
This is excellent Martin… almost there in my opinion! Don’t overdo the branches would be my advice. Great as it is!

There is only a little depth in this picture but you seem to have created an enormous amount of it. Excellent result Andrew.
Thank you Paul, Alan and John for the encouragement .  I am at the 'sit and stare at it' phase, pretty happy with the finished result, but still open to changes after I have ruminated on it.
Just the right amount of branches… I was a little concerned but a masterful piece indeed - I’m most definitely impressed!
It’s a beauty Andrew , the tree branches are excellent and don’t dominate the scene which they could easily do I’d not handled as well as you have done.
It's a fantastic painting.  Not for me to tell you to leave it alone now: you obviously know exactly what you're doing.
Finished - you can see the final version on the gallery at : Queens Court Milton Keynes - Winter by Andrew Roles | 23 March 2026 I made only one minor change which was to darken my shadow man's face so it didn't stick out too much. Thanks to everyone who has commented on the process, which I reckon has taken me about 35-40 hours over the 24 days of this thread.  Happy to discuss the technicalities if anyone has any questions.  All the best.  Andy
