Nice to see the different stages Marjorie. I have a easel with draws attached and have this set up on a table in my bedroom it’s where I work , I leave my paintings on it and get to see them in different light and from different angles . It’s particularly useful when it’s a work in progress it pick up on things to change or add.  I’ve even started to liked a painting or parts I wasn’t  sure of by having it propped up on view.
Back to it again. I feel it’s working but it’s a bit early ….disaster could lie around the corner.
Think it’s more or less finished but I don’t think it’s any looser! Can’t stop being me I suppose! Finished image and then a comparison of the two. Think I need to knock back the grasses a little.
I think the grasses look fine Marjorie. I do like that glimpse of snow, the way you’ve painted the closer trees, and I assume that’s the sea in the distance? I feel I am walking there through the dunes!
Superb painting love the colours.
Lovely work Marjorie, and an interesting composition with perhaps several focal points to rest on… Kill off that foreground grass completely in my view, it’s not needed!
Thanks for the opinions…..I’ve already wiped away a fair bit of the grasses….if they go altogether I think I’ll extend some highlights diagonally. The palette is more purple than the first painting…it may be the same view but it feels different.
It's amazing that what seemed, initially like an out of focus, blurry background, suddenly becomes alive and smacks you right between the eyes.  It's super.
The undulations in the foreground, especially the one on the left are beautiful to look at. A striking piece of work.
Thanks for your input everyone.
I don't know what to say really, as I did like the blocked in stage already, but now, when looking at it - I'm stunned! Lovely colours, beautiful painting, these trees making a lot of likeness, lovely, lovely painting!
It's a Bill background..just lovely Marjorie.
