Tackling the snowy walk to the dunes in a different way - this time on a fresh canvas with a warm base colour. Building up over soft shapes, hoping not to go too far into detail.

I like this. It's very atmospheric, impressionistic almost, and I already get a sense of being there.
Thanks Bill, we’ll see what happens…
Like the way you're carving out those negative spaces - I would post my WIPs more, but by the time I get around to photographing them, I've a greater desire to add to them; and before I know where I am, the thing's finished.  However - I think it IS good to see how a painting progresses; looking forward to seeing where this one goes.
It's very inspiring progress, you've remind me not too hurry into details - it's my bad habit unfortunately... I like those shapes and colours you achieving and craving for more to come ;)
It's a rather lovely abstracted landscape as it is.
Looking forward to seeing this develop Marjorie.
A lovely movement within the blues.
Fascinating to see your progress here Marjorie. The first image you posted is quite well developed and I wonder if you have an earlier stage to show!? As you know I’m painting looser presently so am curious to see how you approach the blank canvas. Hope you don’t mind me asking!
Tessa, I’ve got it propped up up so I pass it regularly. I was thinking already I must be careful ( about details) because it does look planned. I know it will change re colours because the sky is not yet in. I’m thinking ahead very much because lots of layers have to go in - you know it’s another version of “ walk to the dunes”? I’m thinking big brushes until the final bit where the twigs appear. Started yesterday, can’t wait to do a bit more. 40x50cm

Thanks Marjorie. Really good to see and I also prop up a painting to see while I’m waiting for the next stage. I do like your choice of colours. Looking forward to the next stage!
